What is INFX Study Abroad?

Studying abroad in general is an opportunity for students to take college courses in another country while earning academic credits that count toward their degree. It combines education with cultural immersion, allowing students to continue their studies while experiencing life in a different part of the world.

For ULL Informatics (INFX) courses students took 3 classes totaling 9 credits over 4 weeks. One class was a Humanities course designed to introduce students to Italian culture including basic conversational Italian language skills. The second class was Management of Information Systems in Italy this course explored how businesses in Italy use information systems and technology to support daily operations and decision-making. The third class we took was Italian Technology and Society which examined Italy’s significant contributions to science, technology, and computing.

Together all three of the courses enhanced our knowledge of Italian culture. Through assignments like journals, database projects, scavenger hunts, and process projects we gained a well rounded idea of the way Italians live and run their businesses.
