Our weekend trip to Rome was one of the highlights of studying abroad in Italy. After traveling from Florence by train, we visited the Vatican Museums and got to see some of the incredible art and history that make Rome so special. The next day, we toured the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, which was an amazing experience because we were able to see places the Roman Empire used daily.
We also had plenty of free time to explore the city on our own, try local food, walk through different neighborhoods, and take in the atmosphere of Rome. It was a great balance of learning and having fun with friends. Overall, the trip gave us a deeper appreciation for Italy’s history and culture and created memories that I’ll always remember.
