Interested in studying abroad? Follow our step-by-step process to get started!

  1. Choose Your Program:
    Explore the primary UL Lafayette study abroad website to explore our research opportunities! Depending on the program, you will spend between two and four weeks during the summer on faculty-lead excursions throughout the country of your choice!
  2. Meet with your Academic Advisor:
    It is recommended that you meet with your academic advisor to ensure you are meeting the proper requirements for your major, since many courses will count towards your degree. Discuss your goals and identify courses that align with your academic path, as well as explore funding opportunities. This will help you make informed decisions and ensure a seamless integration of your study abroad experience into your degree program.
  3. Get/Renew your Passport:
    A valid passport is required to participate in a study abroad program. We recommend initiating the passport application process as soon as possible in order to ensure its completion by your departure date. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the start date of your program!
  4. Complete your Study Abroad Application:
    Once you have finished the above steps, you are ready to submit your application for your preferred program! Please note that the deadlines change every year, so be sure to check the primary UL Lafayette study abroad website to ensure you
  5. Pay the Deposit via ULINK:
    A deposit is required to secure your spot in a program. After making the minimum deposit via ULINK, you will have reserved your place with your travel plan. Be sure to note that each trip will have different prices, so make sure that the price corresponds to your budget. Remember that scholarships and financial aid are available to help with payment!
